Martyna Kaczmarek Art

About the artist
My name is Martyna Kaczmarek. I am a Visual Artist based in Kilkenny, Ireland. Originally, I am from Szamotuły in Greater Poland Voivodeship in Poland.
I moved to Ireland 20 years ago and I fell in love with the Irish countryside, wildlife, and nature: one of my favorite places to visit would be the Wicklow mountains.
I took part in several group shows in the past, including the ‘Elements' Exhibition at SOMA gallery in Waterford, the annual art exhibition at the Art Project, Kilkenny and in the ‘13 Women’ performance piece designed and directed by Amanda Coogan.

Currently, my art is greatly inspired by wildlife, nature, and the landscape. I I express this through botanical and zoological studies as well as oil paintings which I base on collages as well as photographs taken on my adventures around Ireland and Europe.

My art explores our relationship with the environment - it aims to showcase its beauty, inform the audience about the plants and animals that are native to Poland, Ireland and beyond, as well as to advocate for nature protection and conservation.
